Do you ever look at your baby girl and wonder what kind of young lady she will become? I do, almost daily. I remember when Whitney was born, like it was yesterday. She had porcelain light skin, and big eyes like blueberries. I knew right away that she would look like me, and whether a...
What a beautiful tribute and reminder. We are all His. He knows us. So glad I came across you today. What a beautiful blog! Found you at Brittany Bullen.
Elizabeth- As the oldest of 4 girls in my family, I can perfectly relate to your message. My mom has suffered with depression and has needed me to help a lot with my sisters. Part of knowing who we are is knowing where we came from. We are children of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is our brother, savior, and friend. We can only know our true identity once we realize our potential. The Savior has made it possible for us to become god-like. He knows us by name, and just like we teach our children, he teaches son a daily basis. He is a perfect being that we should all strive to be.
Helaman 14:12 “And also that ye might know of the coming of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and of Earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning; and that ye might know the signs of his coming, to the intent that ye might believe on his name.”
Moroni 7:48 “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure.”
“Whenever we are inclined to feel burdened down with the blows of life’s fight, let us remember that others have passed the same way, have endured, and then have overcome.”
—Thomas S. Monson, “Meeting Life’s Challenges,” Ensign, Nov. 1993
I really enjoyed this, thank you for posting. I am the oldest of 4 girls in my family and am often expected to take care of my younger siblings. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ do truly know us by name. Christ is our savior, brother, and friend. Throughout our days and our challenges, he is always there to help us learn. He truly knows our pain and everything we have gone through. When taking care of young children, it is easy to see the goodness of Christ in their eyes. They are so pure and have a certain light about them. Here are some of my favorite scriptures about Christ.
Moroni 7:48 “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen”
-Jesus has unconditional love for us and wants us to pray to him. Because of him we can be purified if we do all that we can.
3 Nephi 5:26 “And then shall they know their Redeemer, who is Jesus Christ, the Son of God; and then shall they be gathered in from the four quarters of the earth unto their own lands, from whence they have been dispersed; yea, as the Lord liveth so shall it be. ”
– Jesus is our Redeemer and the Son of God.
“Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten and Beloved Son of God. … He is our Savior from sin and death. This is the most important knowledge on earth.” -Dallin H Oaks, “Teachings of Jesus” Oct. 2011
I am so glad this spoke to you. Thank you for sharing your wonderful thoughts.
