Great idea! My children enjoyed pop-up books as well. Some of my favorite memories with my children are from holding them for hours in the rocking chair and reading. I kept a handful of books in the van as well, and anytime we went somewhere, especially to grandpa’s house which was an hour away, they pulled out books and read out loud to us. That also sparked some good discussions. Sometimes we read books backwards with dramatic expression….so funny! They learned to love reading. We literally wore out some of their favorite books. I don’t have grandchildren yet but I think I will add one or two of your suggested books to my bookcase in preparation 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

I have found that the best way to iChat, etc. with the grandkids is to do it while they’re at the table eating..…….captive audience. It really works.
Is the book pictured abov the 1st edition of KnckKnack Paddy Whack? I’ve found 2 by Paul Zelinsky on EBay. Nowhere can I find something indicating which one is 1st edition. The other book has a boy petting a dog with a bone. Thanks.

I’m please to see your site. I’m a retired special needs teacher that tutors online. I have extended that to reading and listening to my grandchildren read on line using google and an online library. Your site is the closest to what I’m trying to encourage that I have found. I’ve started a new website and although I’m passionate about the interaction between family no matter the distance, getting the message across is the new part to me.
