General Conference is a semi-annual broadcast shared by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We look forward to General Conference every year because it allows us a full weekend where we get to attend church in our pajamas, eat delicious food, and listen to our world wide church leaders. You can take part in the this by watching conference on HD on BYUtv, Channel 11 or stream it for free on the BYUtv app. You can also access audio and visual coverage at TheChurchofJesusChrist.org.

As I am writing this it is the first time ever that EVERYONE will be watching conference via technology because we are in the middle of the COVID-19 crisis and self quarantining. We have been talking about this particular conference as it marks the 200 year anniversary of the church being organized.
Breakfast ideas for General Conference
One of our favorite ways to celebrate the weekend is to start the day with delicious food. Our tradition is breakfast burritos! Here are some other favorites to choose from:

Kids love snacking and eating treats when watching conference. You don’t need to make a special trip to the store to find things to snack on to make it more fun! I dug around in the pantry and used snacks we already had in the house.

I have found that my kids are much more engaged in the conference talks when the kids have something to write on and something to snack on. You can use these free snack labels I created for you! There are four in total, so you can use whichever ones you think would work best for you and your family. I used free clipart to make these labels that you can wrap around small cups or jars. The labels I created say:
*Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith, Sacrament, Missionary, Temple, *Love (your neighbor), Scriptures, Atonement, Family, Faith, Clean, Baptism.
The way it works is you ask your kids to listen for these specific words as they listen to the general authorities and leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You may want to come up with a limit of a certain treat per talk so that it doesn’t go too fast. Obviously some of the treats will be more popular than others. You can do all treats or do a mix of cereal, nuts, treats, and veggies. Whatever works for you!
General Conference Printable Packs and Coloring Pages
Depending on the ages of your children you may need to have something for them to keep their hands busy as they listen to the talks. In fact, I listen a lot better when I have something to take notes and doodle on. You can snag this 32 page printable kit from TheWoodCoop.com for only $3.99, she also has a five page option for only $.99. Looking for more? Check out this free General Conference Notebook geared toward teenagers specifically. I also love this general conference notes pack from Red Headed Hostess.

How to Watch General Conference
General Conference is made to be consumed all over the world for FREE. You can access all sessions through television, radio, online, and through streaming apps.
Bonus with BYUtv is they are also offering family favorite movies before, in the middle, and after all general sessions. You can make a weekend of it and snuggle up on the couch to be edified through the laughs, tears, and fun. I am personally looking forward to watching The Princess Bride as that is one of my favorite movies from my youth.
