How are your New Year’s Resolutions going? Mine are going pretty well…I’ve lost 7-8 lbs in the last three weeks. Granted, I am coming down the “I just had a baby” slide that will soon flatten out as you get to those last ten pounds. It’s worth it though, right? Protein is such an important part of a healthy diet and I find it can be hard to fit enough into my diet. I want to share a few of my favorite ways to squeeze protein into my regular routine.
A friend who is a personal trainer once told me that the easiest way to lose weight is to have two shakes, one for breakfast/lunch with small meals in between and a healthy dinner. I am not doing that exactly as I am trying to make sure to eat at least 1500 calories a day as advised by a lactation consultant. But, this is one of my favorite shakes I have created so far and it is so satisfying. In fact, I sometimes can’t eat it all in one sitting and have to save some of it for later!
Chocolate Raspberry Shake:
300 total Calories (without milk)
1 scoop Gold standard Whey Protein
handful of fresh spinach
1/4 C frozen Raspberries
1 container of Oikos Greek Raspberry Yogurt
1/2 C milk or water
BLEND!
It is so yummy, and if you have a shaker bottle you can refridgerate it and simply save the rest for later if you want to make extra!
