Common Questions about Shortbread Cookies:

  • Are shortbread cookies the same as sugar cookies? They are not the same. Shortbread cookies tend to be denser and less sweet. I still think they are the perfect amount of sweetness. They have a dominant buttery flavor and typically no eggs.
  • Can I make this cookie dough in advance? Yes! This dough will stay fresh for 1 week in the refrigerator and up to 1 month in the freezer. Be sure to let the dough sit out to room temperature in order to roll them out.
  • How long do the cookies stay fresh? If you place them in an airtight container, they will stay fresh for up to a week.
