Sensory play is so important in development of young children, but it is usually messy. Quiet books are the perfect way to achieve that without the mess!
We love books around here!
Our favorite board books for babies, our favorite read-aloud chapter books for young kids and we’ve even given a little advice on how to read to your kids.
We are so happy to have our friends from The Mamas Girls guest posting for our Summer Learning Series today. This week is all about hands and they are reviewing the cutest quiet book.

Quiet Books for Little Ones
Ever since I became a mom, I have wanted a quiet book for my kids. I have been searching for 7 long years! I have finally found one that I love, and more importantly…my kids love!!!
Kids are using their hands to learn and they are quiet! Sensory play is so important in development of young children, but it is usually messy. This is the perfect way! It is called Wuka. Unfortunately this book is no longer available, but I found this one made by UNIH that I LOVE. It has many similar features that I loved with this one.
I got this book on a Saturday and was so excited to show my kids, but I wanted to make the grand introduction at church. I pulled it out of my church bag and every one of my kids wanted to play with it. Ages 7 down to 1.
Why the Wuka is great!
One great thing about the Wuka is that you can pick which pages you want and you can make more than one book from your pages! It really was genius to make each pages separate. You need to check out their website to see how you can assemble the Wuka.
I got the Ultimate Wuka (10 pages). With it, I could make 2-5 pages books. So my kids can have their own book and switch when they are done. Brilliant I tell you!
Wuka books are so great for fine motor skills and dexterity. I love the page with the buttons, zippers, and snaps. Little does my 2 year old know that he is learning how to dress himself and he just thinks he is having fun (insert evil laugh here).
The pages have different textures for sensory learning.
The dog page is not just a picture of a dog…it is a a furry dog with a collar you can buckle and unbuckle. Sensory play is such a huge part of young children’s learning.
I received a Wuka to review, all opinions are my own.
There are some other amazing quiet book options available on Amazon. Check them out at the links below.

Me encantei com estes trabalhos. Gostaria de ter no meu consultório. Parabaéns.
extraordinario hermoso gracias
These are also very good for Alzheimer’s patients. They tend to fidget a lot, and are very good for keeping hands busy. The bright colors are stimulating and the activities keep them engaged.
I cannot find the site for these books; it comes up as an error. Do you know if they are still available? They are far superior to what you find on Amazon. Thanks, I would appreciate your insight! Lisa
I believe they are trying a subscription program where you can buy three pages a month for six months. And that includes the new pages they have. You can check out their subscription at mywukabooks.com or you can email one of their representatives if you still want to buy them one page at a time [email protected]
I cannot find it either it says the domain is for sale anybody know where to find WUKA
Hello, I love these Wuka books, but I am having a hard time finding them. Their site says they are temporarily out of stock, but this page says you could buy one book per month. Thoughts? http://www.mywukastore.com/product-p/MyWuka6.htm
I have contacted them and am told that they are re-vamping their products. Not sure what that means exactly but I hope it will be back soon!
c’est magnifique, j’adore!
I had given up on finding this type of quiet activity for a long time. Thank you for this information. I hope to be able to purchase a few as I believe they will help keep my child occupied.
Camille, I can not find anything anywhere from the Links given on this post. ALL the Links lead to Errors or Dead Ends!! The Links that are provided do not lead to ANY post or website. The 2 links to Wuka lead to notices like “This Website Can Not Be Reached” and “Sorry, This Page Does Not Exist.” I’m sorry but I think this post should be adjusted to accommodate the title and the links. I see from other Posts everyone is having problems with the Links provided. I’m very anxious to know about this “Wuka” Review and books. Thank you very much for having a Wonderful Website. I do LOVE it and I follow you regularly !!! Thank you again, jwt
Thank you so much for letting me know. Looks like they changed their website and didn’t redirect old links. I have updated our links to their new site! Find all the Wuka products here – https://www.wukalove.com
I got a Kitibook (kitimimi.com) And love it!
