Here in Alaska the transition from winter to spring is messy. In fact, we call it Break Up because it has to have it’s own name. Basically it’s when the snow melts, but the ground is still frozen so the water has no where to go. Here are a few snapshots from my phone that I took last Break Up in my neighborhood.
Yeah, so as you can see it is a muddy and wet mess. When we first moved here the advice I heard over and over from my neighbors was make sure you have Bogs. After experiencing one full winter and one Break Up I finally understand why that is their advice.
Why Bogs are the best winter to spring boots:
Great for winter
First of all, they are great winter boots! The boots I have are temperature rated for -40 degrees. That might seem a little extreme, but it actually gets that cold here! So good winter boots are important and the Bogs have been perfect this winter. My toes never got cold!
They are fashionable
Around here fashion is usually put on the back burner for the cold, bitter winter months because it’s more important to stay safe than look good. With Bogs you can have both! They are super cute, but will keep your feet dry and warm. That makes me jump for joy!
They are waterproof
Bogs are 100% waterproof. That is so important for winter so your feet stay dry, but because of that you can keep those boots out as the snow melts and the spring rains start falling.
They will last
Bogs are quality boots and they will last awhile. I have worn mine every single day this winter and they still look like new. They have a non-marking and self-cleaning sole which helps them look like new. They also have Durafresh biotechnology which helps keep away bad odors! No wet, stinky winter boots! This is especially important with my boys boots.
