Illustration Competition for elementary ages K-6

Deadline: June, 3rd 2013

Is your child an artist?  We want to see it!  This isn’t just any contest, the winner of this contest will get a $50 gift card to ToysRus AND will win a chance to illustrate a children’s book!!

We will also feature a few of the top entries here on the blog.

 

How to enter:

1.Have your son or daughter read the following passage from the book.

“Most nights go the usual way.  Take a bath, read some books, say a prayer, a kiss good night, then fall asleep.  And most nights, if they go the usual way, I stay in my bed, sleeping until the sun peeks through my window shades.  But some nights don’t go the usual way.  Some nights I go to sleep in my bed, but then I think I go somewhere else instead. “

2. Have your child draw anything that they think illustrates any part, or all of the passage.  The main character can be a boy or girl, animal, creature or child and can be drawn, painted or colored (or anything else as well!).  We just want them to create whatever inspires them. (please don’t submit very small drawings as it will be rather difficult to enlarge, try to be at least an 8 in. by 10 in. work or larger)

3. Scan it in, and email it to: [email protected] WITH “Illustration Submission” in the subject.
