All About Bugs for Kids
Welcome to our Summer Learning Series all about bugs and insects. Here are some of our very favorite bug activities, books, snacks and games to get your kids exploring the world around them.
As an adult, there are definitely times bugs can gross me out! I still love watching and encouraging my kids to get close and even pick them up if it’s safe. My kids love picking up ladybugs, grasshoppers and rollie pollies!
Bugs and insects are a genuine interest for lots of kids. Here are some fun ideas to get your kids learning and exploring the world around them. Also we have some free printable for a coloring page and a bug scavenger hunt!
Ladybug painted rocks
These adorable love bugs come from AuntieAnnie.com. They would be a fun project to do with the kids, you make plaster and pour it into spoons to make the bugs. Turn them into magnets or clips.

Spider Web GROSS MOTOR ACTIVITY
This is an easy spider web game from No Time For Flashcards. I know my kids would love it and it helps develop gross motor skills!

Painting with Fake Bugs
This is another bug activity from No Time For Flashcards. This is great for younger kids, but really all ages would have fun painting with giant fake bugs! Sometimes those simple activities are the ones they love the most.

Tissue Paper Snail
My boys love checking the yard for snails so I know they would love making this tissue paper snail from No Time For Flashcards. Gluing those little tissue papers is a great small muscle activity as well.
