We just moved to a new home last month. We are renting, which is a sudden change after owning our own home for the past three years. I’ve been wanting to paint the white walls since I moved in, but have to resist any temptation to do it. So I’ve now turned to my furniture and decorations for a boost of color. This is a vase I found at a thrift store a few years ago for three dollars! It was an awesome shape and size, but was covered in a hideous floral print. After searching the internet to see if it was worth anything (because you never know!) I spray painted it white. After the move, it got pretty scuffed up and dirty so I decided to paint it a bright color and I am so happy with the results. It was just the splash of color I needed to brighten up my home!
I chose Rust-Oleaum American Accents spray paint in Satin Lagoon. The vase is now sitting happily on my entry table looking lovely.

Was this a ceramic vase, by chance? My husband gifted me with the most hideously colored vase (that he thinks is lovely),and the only way that I can possibly keep it is if I paint over the diarrhea color.
Pattie,
Yes, it is a ceramic vase. Mine wasn’t diarrhea color (ew), but it was pretty ugly. If you decide to spray paint yours just start with a primer and then spray it whatever color you want. The best part is you can spray it again if you change your decor in a few years. Good luck, let me know if you have any questions!
