This is a fun crocodile craft that is also pretty easy to make. I wrapped an empty cake box with green paper and my daughter did the rest of the gluing and building. There are a few different variations you could do to this craft to add even more child involvement. You could wrap the box in white paper and have the child stamp it with a cotton ball to give it a crocodile looking texture. You would have to wrap the box in paper though, I tried to paint the box and it didn’t work.
The fun part of this craft is that when you’re done it is actually fun to play with. My daughter carried it around all day.
This is a great craft to make after reading your favorite crocodile or alligator book!
What you will need to make your own crocodile craft:
-an empty box (cake and brownie boxes are the perfect size)
-green construction paper
-white construction paper
-a sheet of green foam for the eyes
-googly eyes
-two green pom poms
-gluestick
Directions:
Cover a cake box with green construction paper. Cut out the green foam for the eyes and glue on the back of the box. Glue the googly eyes to the green foam. Add the two green pom poms to the front of the box for the nostrils and glue white triangles to the sides and front of the box for teeth.
I wrapped the box like a present and then covered the folded and taped sides by cutting long rectangles the same size as the sides of the box out of the same green construction paper and gluing it over the taped paper.
