I decided that instead of someone else getting all of the credit in our home this Christmas, (which is what happens to moms all year long) I was going to claim some of the orchestration of magical goings on, not credit some little Elf. Out of this frustration, and a minor fear for that little dudes scary, bug eyed face, was born the idea for “Myself on the Shelf”.
Really, have you looked into those eyes? I have, and they scare me. They see you when you’re sleeping and they know when you’re awake! Really and truly, they are almost as bad as llamas.
I encountered a few problems along the way, such as my butt being easily too big for the shelves in my home, and my inability to do such things as hang upside down from the chandeliers. In the end, my kids and I still had fun recreating some of the Elf’s tricks. Feel free to join in! I’d love to see your ideas! I realize it is almost Christmas and we are out of time, but I’d still love to see them. Maybe next year I’ll carry on with this little tradition.
Do you see my death grip on the molding? Ya, this was really pretty dangerous.
Yes, I’m resting my feet on my daughter, Ella. I was going to cut her out – but it was too funny – so I left her.
Merry Christmas to you, and may every wish come true!
