This is the BEST protein shake you’ll ever make!! (Seriously!) I’ve always loved the Peanut Butter Moo’d shake at Jamba Juice! It’s so creamy and smooth and indulgent. But at 770 calories per shake, my BOTTOM line just cannot afford it!! Ouch! So a long time ago, I managed to create my own HEALTHY version of Peanut Butter Moo’d, which absolutely satisfies my cravings in a a major way! And I’ll give ya two options…one’s healthy, the other is SUPER healthy!!
1 serving (Can be used as meal replacement)
Ingredients:
1 cup milk (or for the SUPER healthy, low calorie option, go for unsweetened almond milk)
1 rounded scoop of chocolate protein powder (*see note below for my favorite brand!!)
1 rounded tablespoon full of peanut butter
1/2 small banana (Sometimes I do less, that way I get the flavor without the added calories)
1 tsb (or more if you like) vanilla
2 tsp cocoa powder (if you don’t have it, it’s still great without it…I just love extra chocolate flavor!)
1 tbsp splenda or stevia
3 cups of ice (more or less depending on how thick you like it)
Combine in a blender and blend away!! Pour and enjoy!
Total Calories:
279-335 (depending on whether you use almond milk or regular skim) That’s less than HALF the calories in a regular shake!! Plus, they’re good calories for you.
As for the protein powder, I’ve tried EVERYTHING out there! I promise! And hands down, my very favorite is Gold Standard from GNC. (I buy it when I get the member’s 20% off discount at the beginning of the month) I’m not a big fan of many other protein powders, but this one tastes awesome!! My three year old LOVES it and begs for protein shakes almost everyday! (although, it’s a LOT of protein, so I do half shake, half milk.)
Thanks for checking this out and please share with your friends!!
