Halloween vegetable cups

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love dressing up, trick-or-treating, Halloween parties and spooky movies. I love it all including all the delicious and fun sweet treats! In the past, I’ve shared plum black widows and Nutter Butter black cats for some Halloween snacks/treats.

I love celebrating holidays with yummy food, but I also love coming up with festive and healthy options. Last year I made these vegetable cups for Christmas and my kids loved them so much that I knew I needed to make something like them for Halloween.

These Halloween vegetable cups are so easy to make and my kids LOVED them. It’s a fun way to get some extra vegetables in your kids’ lunch boxes or at your next Halloween party.

These are super simple to make and you can customize these with your favorite vegetable of the same color. I’ve made three fun Halloween characters to choose from.

Frankenstein cups

Directions:

Using a black permanent marker draw a Frankenstein face on the cup. Fill with your favorite green vegetables. I used sliced cucumber and celery. Top with a handful of black olives for Frankenstein’s hair.

Jack-O-Lantern Cups

Directions:

Using a black permanent marker draw a jack-o-lantern face on the cup. Fill with your favorite orange vegetables. I used baby carrots and orange bell peppers.

Ghost cups

Directions:

Using a black permanent marker draw a ghost face on the cup. Fill the cup with bite sized cauliflower florets.

I used these 14 oz cups for these vegetable cups and they worked great for lunch boxes, but if you’re going to make a bunch of these for a party I would suggest using these 9 oz cups instead. They’re smaller so you’ll get a lot more cups made with fewer vegetables. Make a bunch of each character and then put them on your food table at your next Halloween party. They make a great grab-and-go snack. You can have little disposable cups of ranch available next to the cups too.

To add to a lunch box:

Simply add a small square of press and seal plastic wrap to the top of the vegetable cup you’re adding to a lunch box. Make sure the wrap is sealed around the top of the cup so the vegetables don’t spill during transport to school. You can add some ranch to the lunchbox for dipping and you’re good to go. My kids loved these in their lunch boxes!
