These handprint campfires are so easy to make and my daughter loved making it. She loves any art project where she gets to dip her hand in paint. We’ve been doing a lot of campfire themed crafts and activities around our house to get ready and excited for a camping trip we have coming up next month. This list of camping books are fun to read before or after this craft, or try these marshmallow paintings next or make these tissue paper campfires.

I loved these campfires because the child can do the whole craft themselves! It’s great scissor and gluing practice and they can decide how big the fire will be and what color it will be. As an added bonus it’s fun to get hands messy in paint sometimes. 🙂

Items needed for a handprint campfire
- paint
- brown and white construction paper
- orange and yellow paint
- glue
- wet wipes (to clean up)
Directions:
Have the child cut or rip strips of brown construction paper for logs. Glue brown strips to the white construction paper (we tried it on black paper first and the paint didn’t show up). Dip hands in yellow and orange paint and press hand above the logs to make it look like fire.
