Banana Nut Protein Green Smoothie
You will need:
Handful of ice 1 tblspoon PB2 or peanut butter 10 oz.
unsweetened almond milk/coconut milk/regular milk
handful of spinach or muffin size frozen spinach
banana (I like to freeze mine)
Directions: Using an electric blender on medium speed, blend all ingredients together. Serve in tall glass and enjoy! Because I have been trying to start my day the right way, I have been using protein powders to help boost my protein intake during the day. I was interested in trying Skinny Gut to see if I would like their flavor as well. I should mention that you can also use this same recipe with the chocolate protein, and I actually prefer that a little more. If you find that this shake isn’t sweet enough for you, you can add in some flavored Greek yogurt, I love raspberry by Oikos.
I love starting my day with a shake, but if you want something you can chew try our Protein Pancakes. I also like to use vanilla protein powder to make pumpkin flavored shakes or berry flavored as it wont take over the flavor.
One tip that has saved me in the mornings lately is having my mix ins prepped. I always have issues with my bananas and spinach going bad before I can get around to using them all. If you blend up your spinach and freeze them in a muffin tin you can then pop them out and save them in a freezer safe ziploc bag for later use! I also like to cut my bananas up into halves to freeze for later and easy use as well. It make for a creamy finish and gives it a nice sweet taste.
