I was recently introduced to the book, Soft Enough for a King, and I have fallen in love with it. I love the idea of reading a Christmas book with your children every night of December as you count down to Christmas day. I have been on the hunt for books that are touching, beautiful and have the true meaning of Christmas. This one does it beautifully.
SoftEnough.com created this book as a new tradition that you can celebrate the whole month long looking for opportunities to serve those around you. So often my children are bombarded with commercials, magazines, and ads of the latest “must have” toy and I start to hear about how life cannot go on if they don’t receive this toy. It makes me concerned for the focus of Christmas and where is should be. We are a Christian family, LDS, and I want nothing more than to have my children truly understand that Christmas is about so much more than the latest toy and what you get. I am a big fan of Elf on the Shelf, we have written a lot of posts about the fun of that book and tradition, but to me this one means soooo much more.
For $39.95, the package consists of the wooden manger, plush Christ doll, plenty of straw to record your acts of service, and an illustrated hard-bound story book which tells the story of a Bethlehem in-keeper’s son who helps those in need while preparing the manger for a special baby on Christmas Eve.
The creators of Soft Enough have agreed to give one away to our readers and we will be doing that giveaway on our instagram account. I hope you will come enter and you can find your own here to give away as a gift or to start a new family tradition of your own.
