Celebrate Toy Story 4 by crafting a Forky with your kids. Let them use their imagination and make their very own Spork friend
Do you have any Toy Story fans in your family? If so then you probably don’t need any reminder that it’s time for the new DVD release. But for those who didn’t know…it’s time for Toy Story 4 to be released on DVD!
The Digital 4K Ultra HD™ and Movies Anywhere version was released on October 1st, and the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray™, and DVD is being released on October 8th, 2019!
To celebrate the release, the kids and I made our own Forky as an after school activity. It was such a fun craft to get everyone involved in, and all the kids loved making their Forky unique.
Supplies:
- Pom Poms
- Feathers
- Googly Eyes
- Pipe Cleaners
- Markers (Permanent or Arteza work best)
- Glue
- Spork (or a spoon if you don’t want to order them)
- Hot Glue (to hold it all together)
The best part of this Toy Story 4 craft is that the kids have all the creative power. Just like in the movie and how Forky was created. Give them their supplies and then let them do what they want to with it.
Some kids may choose to create a duplicate of the Forky from the movie, but others will use their creativity to change it up.
You can give them a few suggestions on how to make their Forky, but ultimately it’s up to them!
Forky Ideas
•Use the pipe cleaners for arms. Wrap them around the top of the spork a few times and then form hands on each end. You can also cut it into little pieces to create hair.
•Pom Poms can be used on the head or for feet. You could also put them on the end of the pipe cleaner for hands.
•Googly Eyes of course glued on for the eyes. But then you can draw on eye lashes, or eye brows over the top of them.
•Use markers to draw clothes, mouth, or hair.
Let them go. Let them pick and choose how to create and use their imagination.
How stinking cute are these 4 in a row. They are like the best group of friends posing for a selfie!!
Who’s ready to go make a Forky and have a family movie night watching Toy Story 4? And while you are at it, we’ve got a fantastic toy story 4 BINGO game for you as well!! This is a Toy Story 4 Car Ride game. As you are riding in your car (on a road trip?!) look out the window to try to find the things on your board. Cross them off as you see them.
While you have all the craft supplies out, you might as well try some of these other awesome kid crafts we have shared on My Mommy Style.
