School has begun and if your household is anything like mine you deserve a back to school break already! School really did start off rather well, Jackson made it to school on time and ran on ahead for me ready to take on what this year of second grade has to offer. I literally had to chase him down to his classroom to give him a goodbye hug and a surprisingly welcomed kiss goodbye. We see the sentiment everywhere that we cannot believe how quickly our little ones are growing up, but it just keeps happening and they keep getting older!
Jayne has started a new preschool program called Upstart that is a free program for four year olds in preparation for their kindergarten year. The program is first come first serve for sign up, 20 minutes a day and all online and so far she is loving it. Jackson really excelled in the program and I am excited to see how she grows this year. She will also be doing a preschool through the week as well and I just adore watching her come out of her shell with her peers and teacher.
So we are getting into a new rhythmn and I would say things were going pretty darn well. This morning I woke up with a positive determination to do all of those “things” that hang over my head. Get the kids to school on time, work out, say a prayer, and eat a healthy breakfast. That is doable right? Well, mid work out my little darling Jayne could not handle her brother playing with her toy. A cat and mouse chase ensued, quite literally as they were fighting over a Mickey Mouse, and Jett ended up tripping and hitting his mouth into the baseboard of the wall. :/ Insert anger. frustration. and fear. Luckily the gash went only a few layers deep, but we ended up spending half of the day in the instacare and let’s just say holding your baby down as they get stitches is just not my cup of tea.
So I decided I needed a night out! We met Paul down in Salt Lake City and decided a back to school break was just what we needed. Buca Di Peppo is having a great promotion right now where you can get a meal to feed 4 for only $40!
We ordered the Baked Ziti, mixed salad, and garlic bread. It was soooo good. We also underestimated the enormity of this meal and ordered Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken and a Pepperoni Pizza. Let’s just say we could have fed an army and we came home with LOTS of leftovers. Trust them when they say this meal would feed four adults.
We weren’t complaining about the spread though.
We finished the night with their delicious Chocolate Chip Cannoli and it did not disappoint! I just love the look on Jayne’s face in this picture!
Thank you to the wonderful staff for a delicious night out. It calmed my troubled soul and made me ready to take on the rest of the week! Here’s to happy days and no more stitches!
The 4 for $40 promotion is happening now and you can actually call ahead to have your table ready and waiting HERE. Just remember to print out your coupon and bring it with you so you are good to go! This promotion goes until 9/27/2015 so go out and have some fun! If you are even smarter than us you will grab a couple that makes you laugh hysterically to share the deal with and find the kids a babysitter! 😉
