My baby is growing up! Ya, just look at her picture – I about died too. She is beautiful, and when that dress showed up from Nordstrom in the mail, (the day before the dance) it didn’t quite look the same as the model who wore it online, without the Moss girl curves. I’m not sure why I’m surprised, because dresses rarely do – but let’s just say that she is well – beautiful – and it showed, but by that point, it was too late to switch up her gown. She was radiating and happy! She was surrounded by her best friends and was determined to make her Senior Ball a night to remember. And she did.
Kinley went airsoft(ing) is this a word, and came home with bruises everywhere and a huge smile. They had so much fun, and with all of her target practice with did, she rocked it! She held her own,and shot up everything that moved. But back to the picture above, these two boys, Estevan and Etoni, have been a huge support for Kinley and helped to make her high school experience filled with amazing and memorable times. The play in the rain together, get each other food, drop in and say hi and work and talk late at night when they have a bad day.
I am happy she found true friendship.
Kinley has a whole bunch of crazy funny stocker pictures with her in the background of Etoni… I guess you just wouldn’t get the humor unless you saw all of them – but either way, the pic above makes me laugh. I literally had 30 minutes to take ALL of these pictures, so it was fast and furious! A couple stepped up, I snapped a few and moved onto the next. I wish we had more time to take some individual pictures of the girls. Originally, we were going to go down to the lake to take them but we just ran out of time. They girls had to get all pretty after running around shooting guns. I only had about 15 – 20 minutes to do her hair and makeup! My favorite part of taking their pictures over by Tucanos, (an yummy Brazilian grill) is that there were countless girls walking around in their gowns – and they were all beautiful! The colors and designs were so fun to see.
The hair styles, shoes, makeup … it left me breathless, and wanting to be back at my Senior Ball!
And there you have it…my baby walking off into the sunset (or to eat).
Kinley is my best friend. I am blessed with a lot of daughters that are my best friends. At times, she drives me crazy – (don’t all teenagers?) but overall, she has been an angel. She is graduating in a month, and getting prepared for college. She is working at Papa Murphey’s and also with a special needs boy. She fills her time with good things and is such a great example to us. Although it’s exciting and scary sending her into the world, I’m sure she will create good wherever she goes.
Another piece of my heart will soon walk away, and watching it is like a fast forward motion movie of the past eighteen years. It went so fast, and yet, she still has so much to do. Motherhood…there is simply nothing like it.
