Laces for Love, donate your shoes to help a family grow

                                                                                                                       Guess what?! We are in sunny St. George and loving it!

As I made the five hour drive I was thinking about this last week and how I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a Women’s (Relief Society) conference that focused on the sanctity, the blessing, and the great imporance that we have as Mothers. What environment are we creating in the home? What media influences do we allow? Are our standards being communicated to our children? Do they KNOW what we believe and what we expect from them? Are we leading by example in a way that they know what we believe without having to ask? It was the kind of conference that leaves you excited and also thoughtful as to what steps can be made to create a better you.

More than anything I went away from the meeting full of gratitude that I have the opportunity to be a mom and to be home with them and focus on them.  Yes, I absolutely have days that I want to run away and focus on my own plate of food. But I am truly thankful for these little mouths I get to feed, hands I get to wash, and little bodies I get to squeeze.

My dear friend, Amanda, is making a valiant effort to add another babe to her amazing family. Amanda simply amazes me every time I talk with her. She is a woman of faith who communicates her love and standards to her children. She and her husband David, lead their family with love, enthusiasm and fun; they are truly an amazing family and I feel lucky to know them. To help them with the extreme cost of adoption they are gathering used shoes. That’s it! All we need to do to help them grow their family is clear out our closets and send loving “soles” their way. Please take the opportunity to look at the pickup locations and see what shoes you have to give. Every pair counts!

Join as as we collect 40,000 gently used but still wearable shoes THIS MONTH to raise the funds needed for the adoption of two children. We can take ANY type of shoe – boots (we LOVE boots, since they pay us by the pound), flip flops, high heels, tennis shoes, dressy shoes, sports shoes, cleats, anything. For men, women and children. As long as there aren’t gaping holes . . . and they match . . . we’ll take them! You declutter, we earn much needed adoption money AND the shoes go to third world countries. WIN, WIN and WIN!!!

It’s nearly here! Just 1.5 more weeks until we finish our shoe drive. So far we
have received shoes from all over Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Chicago, Texas, Oregon,
Georigia, Washington, Northern California and even Poland. SO MUCH LOVE! We are
still gathering shoes in the Idaho Falls/Rexburg area, at all our Utah
locations, in Las Vegas, Southern California, We have also been spotlighted in
newspaper and TV and have received so much generous support from local
organizations and businesses.
