Commonly Asked Questions:
How do I get the most juice out of fresh limes? Use a reamer or juicer to get the most juice. Make sure to soften the skin by rolling it with your palm on a hard counter. Heat it in the microwave for 15 seconds to extract more juice. Store your limes in a loose bag in the crisper part of the refriderator to keep them from drying up on the counter.
What kind of salt should I use to rim the glass? Do not use table salt to rim a glass, itβs too fine and will give you too much of a salt flavor! To make this a proper margarita, you need coarse kosher salt to rim the glass. The larger crystals in kosher salt gives your drink a pleasant texture and dissolves slowly on your tongue. The tart lime juice combined with the slight crunch of the salt is delicious!
How do you pick a ripe pineapple? Check for green leaves and a yellow green exterior color indicating itβs fresh. Give it a little push or squeeze to see if it gives. It should be slightly soft and not hard. Check for a sweet smell when you smell the bottom of the fruit.
What are some garnishes to use on the glass? Decorate the glasses with lime slices, pineapple slices or mint leaves to get a fancy mocktail. Try a skewer of tropical fruit in each glass for a little fruit salad on a stick to go with your refreshing drink. Pineapple, strawberries, kiwi, mango are fun colorful fruits that stay on a skewer well.
Can I add Alcohol? Yes you can. Simply add 4 oz of tequila or you can use 4oz of rum to make it a daiquiri.
