Pasta and Shrimp with a Lemon Cream Sauce

This is a fancy meal perfect for a special occasion. I made it last night for Father’s Day and it was incredible. It was creamy and zesty without being too in-your-face-lemony. The flavors were perfect together.

Serves 4

1 lb angel hair pasta
3 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound raw shrimp (medium or large), peeled and deveined
2 lemons, juiced
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
1 Tablespoon fresh oregano; minced (or 1 tsp dried)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
1 1/2 cup cream
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

Cook and drain pasta.

While pasta is cooking, melt butter in a large sauce pan, over medium heat. Saute garlic in the butter 1-2 minutes or until lightly browned.

Add shrimp to pan; cook for 1-2 minutes.

Add lemon juice, lemon zest, oregano, salt, and white pepper; continue to cook another 2-3 minutes or until shrimp turn pink.

Reduce heat to low and gently stir in cream and Parmesan cheese; heat for 2-3 minutes.

Serve over angel hair pasta with freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Add freshly milled black pepper, if desired.

For this lemon cream sauce you are calling for 11/2 cups cream. Question: Would this be heavy whipping cream? Many ThanksReplyCancel
