Being Granny Ain’t so Bad

Turns out, my Sydney, Briant and baby Emma are moving from Boston to California!

I couldn’t be more happy, because it will be a lot more easy to see them when we need to. She is just passing through Utah for about a week, and they have a lot of people to see – but we had the chance to catch up today. We ended up going fishing with all of the kids, and three dogs!

Oh man, Emma is so dang cute! She “talks” by making all sorts of noises. In this picture, Whitney asked her to smile and she started sort of growling… and cracked me up!

My first fish… at least the first one I remember catching and holding as it squirmed! It freaked me out, it you can’t tell by my face!

It was a beautiful day spent with loved ones, and you can’t get much better than that! I always kind of dreaded being a Granny, but I have enjoyed it! You get to snuggle close to a baby that you love so much, AND you get to sleep at night. You get the best of both worlds!

I really believe that Grandparents have such an impact on their Grandkids. I feel so blessed to begin this journey. I have no doubt there will be a lot more to come! Hopefully not too soon 🙂 We need to get my other daughters a lot older before that happens. I can only imagine how many grandkids Jon and I will have before we’re finished.
