I am so excited to update you on our first Be.You.tiful Linky party! It has been so fun to see the ideas that people have contributed, and it’s such a great way to get to know new bloggers. I want to share a few of my favorites, but first I want to thank the other gals that launched this little project with us. Andie from Maybe I Will, McKenzie from Girl Loves Glam, Sadie from Simply Sadie Jane, Dani from Love me, Dani Marie, and the girls at Fry Sauce and Grits!
And remember, the awesome new business, Atly is giving away $500 to one lucky winner to kick off this linky party! Atly is a great new website where you can submit a class to teach – and get paid by the people who choose to sign up and take it! There are a lot of bloggers out there that would love to make money on information they have spent a lot of time learning, and talents they have developed. There are so many classes I want to take! (I wish I had more time!)
PS: The Owner of ATLY is AWESOME! I have loved sitting with him and hearing his vision for the future of Atly and the big things already happening for him. Be confident that your class is in good hands!
So after a little side tracked ismism…. I am back to my favorites. At first I felt bad picking some of the same ones that the other girls did, but I couldn’t help myself.
I loved How To Mom’s Super Fast Chignon! Isn’t that a weird word, anyway? Chignon. It sounds like a funky high aerobic paced dance, practiced in the rain forest somewhere, and of course – nobody knows how to spell it – but I do, now. OH OH, and NOOOOO bobby pins! I will definitely put this one to good use, while I’m doing my mommy daily dance. Maybe now, I’ll call it gettin’ my CHIGNON on!
My second pick would be the Coconut Vanilla homemade Sugar Scrub.
People, I wanted to eat this stuff after I read the directions. And I traditionally don’t like to make anything in the kitchen. It was posted by Wonky Wonderful, and HERE is the link! My new neighbors would think I was the BOMB CHIGNON if I made this for them and delivered it. Too bad, I won’t. Do good intentions count for anything?
I think they should.
And lastly, but now least-ly, and actually mostly, I LOVED Coping with Perfectionism, written by MichelleLunt.com I agree wholeheartedly with her take on the world of blogging and social media. Some people love social media, and some hate it because of the problems it causes. I happen to be a blogger that loves blogging, but is also scared of what kind of monster scary things it can create. Somehow, some bloggers, find it okay to rip on each other – or readers rip on bloggers, or we all feel like less of a person, because we aren’t making some kind of pesto chicken, and decorating the front door with hearts, and dieting to perfection, while talking on our bedazzled phone in our perfectly clean car, wearing our pinterest “pinworthy” perfect outfit. Barf.
We are all just trying to do our best. Let’s remember that pictures on the internet are just one little snapshot of a full life on the other side of the screen, full on imperfections – and that’s okay – after all, we are human.
Have a great rest of your weekend, and remember to enter our drawing and link up if you have a blog! I’ve loved reading everyone’s submissions. I’m heading off to do my first CHIGNON dance off of the New Year!
