Taking care of your skin in the Fall can often times be overlooked in your day to day life. Summer is over and Winter has not yet begun, but there are specific things to keep in mind to keep your skin radiant and ready for Winter. It has been a strange Fall so far here in Utah as we have been breaking record high temperatures. I am not complaining, but I do love the cool crisp air of Fall. Because of the heat I have been even more aware of my skin’s needs.
1.STAY HYDRATED:
Daily moisturizing is key to your skin’s elasticity and health. This not only means applying lotion on the outside of your skin but also by staying hydrated on the inside. Make sure to be drinking plenty of water so that your body can run at is optimal level. Water is like gas to a car’s engine and will help your body feel so much better. Skin is your largest organ so don’t forget the benefits there as well.
2. Don’t Forget Sunscreen
Even on cloudy days it is so important to have sunscreen applied daily. I like to use a face primer lotion that has SPF in it. Make sure that you use something with a 15 spf minimum, I really like this one.
3. Use a Humidifier
Replacing moisture in the air is beneficial for your skin, your hair, and your overall health. This is especially helpful if you live in a dry state like Utah!
4. Reassess your Skin Cleaning products
If you opt for fruity shower gels in the Summer, it may be a good time to pull out creamier body washes for the Fall and Winter. Keep in mind that weekly exfoliation can be helpful as well.
5. Moisturize Daily
This is key to keeping dry skin at bay. Keep in mind that moisturizing after bathing is a great way to seal in moisturize. If you are like me and you are in a hurry because you have babies waiting on you, you will love the new Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturizer. I can spray it on quick and take care of business in no time. My kids think it is pretty fun to have their lotion put on this way as well!
can purchase New Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair Spray Moisturizer at Walmart.com.
Don’t forget to keep your feet moisturized too. I like to keep a bottle of this in the glove box of my car as well so that if I have forgotten to moisturize and I am wearing a skirt I can get it done really quick before leaving the car!
