Tissue paper campfire craft

Yesterday I shared a list of books about camping. I explained that it is one of my favorite summer activities so I thought it would be fun to share books and crafts about camping for our Summer Learning Series.

This campfire craft is super easy and my kids had so much fun making it. I don’t know what it is about tissue paper, but whenever we do a craft with it my kids go crazy. Maybe it’s the texture of the paper or that it comes in a lot of pretty colors. Whatever the reason is fine because I like tissue paper too. It makes cute crafts!

My kids are getting excited to go camping with their cousins in a few weeks and this craft was a fun way to get ready for camping and get them even more excited. This craft was so easy and you don’t need a lot of materials to make it. I cut the tissue paper into triangles, but you can cut it into whatever shape you want.

Supplies needed for campfire craft:

• Yellow and orange tissue paper, cut into triangles
• 2 large popsicle sticks
• brown paint
• black construction paper
• glue

Directions:

Paint two large popsicle sticks brown and set aside to dry. When they are dry glue them in an X shape on a piece of black construction paper to look like wood in a fire. Glue tissue paper triangles above the popsicle sticks to look like fire.

That’s it! Easy peasy. Let your campfire dry and you’re done. Have fun!
