Simple Catapults for Kids

Hey! Today I want to share a FUN craft that is super simple to assemble and provides hours of entertainment. If you’ve ever had a hard time finding a fun craft for a little boy this one is perfect.

You will only need 5 things:

  • a small block of wood
  • tongue depressor
  • clothes pin
  • a lid
  • glue gun

First have your kids paint the wood or draw on it with permanent markers. (I obviously didn’t do this step, and it isn’t mandatory) This will help involve your kids in the process, especially if they are too young for the glue gun. It will also help them tell their catapults apart when they are done and they get to be creative and show their individuality.

After the paint is dry, glue the clothes pin to the center of the block of wood with the end of the clothespin touching the edge of the wood. Like this:

Closer view:

Glue the tongue depressor to the end of the clothespin.

Glue the lid to the end of the tongue depressor.

That’s it!! Easy as pie. Now let your kids go wild! Don’t be surprised if they aim them at you and try to hit you with cotton balls. Don’t be offended if they smile while doing it!
