In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar.
Add the vegetable oil to the bowl and mix well.
Slowly pour in the boiling water while stirring the mixture continuously.
Keep stirring until the dough comes together and cools down.
Once the dough is cool enough to handle, knead it on a clean surface until it becomes soft and pliable.
If desired, divide the dough into portions and add a few drops of food coloring or liquid watercolors to each portion. Knead until the color is evenly distributed.
Optional: Add a few drops of essential oils for a delightful scent.
