I don’t know if you have recently seen our Poop Party, but it has created quite the stink. 🙂 I decided to embrace that theme and give you a little more with this DIY “Poop Happens” diaper caddy. This is an idea that I had years ago when I was pregnant with my first baby and a friend of mine made it for me as a gift and I have used it every DAY for years. It is a spin off of Forrest Gump if you are familiar with the line…
I figure diaper changing has to come with a dose of humor because it happens way too often to be taken seriously. I am currently potty training my third child and true to form he is proving to be the most difficult. Is that a thing? The third child? He is adorable and incredibly sweet, but no doubt, he is stubborn as a mule. I was on facebook the other day and again saw another mother asking for advice on potty training. I have already done this twice and I still do not feel like I have all the answers. My thoughts are children have windows of opportunity when they show readiness signs of using the toilet. For some these signs are ignored or they are simply not ready to use the potty and it becomes an issue of control. That my friends is where I am in the process with my son, I have done this long enough to know that he is going to push against the idea until he is ready. He is also terrified of the toilet and abhors the very idea of wearing underwear, so at this point I am backing off a little bit. I am trying my BEST to not lose my mind.
This diaper caddy is such an fun and easy project and is seriously the best baby gift you could give to any mom. I love that this galvanized bucket is sturdy and washable. I created this vinyl sign to fit this bucket specifically, it is 11″ x 3″ but if you wanted to you could easily put this onto a plastic bucket or organizing bin.
I am new to creating with Cricut and I am having so much learning how to use this tool. Starting out can be a little intimidating but there are so many resources to help you navigate your way through. I am planning to follow up with some basic “how-to’s” and design idea posts. I don’t craft with paper very often, but I would like to design some t-shirts, make home décor, and wall hangings! I would love it if you joined me in this adventure!
To start this project you will Need:
Bucket or caddy for diapers
Vinyl (I used Premium outdoor glossy vinyl)
