Easy Keto Pizza Crust

You can now enjoy one of your favorite foods while still eating healthy when you toss together this Easy Keto Pizza Crust.

I have always enjoyed the keto lifestyle because it feels easier to handle than most stricter eating habits. However, I have to say that I’m not a huge fan of the bread options up to this point. Although they don’t match the bread I’m used to consuming, there are some tasty recipes out there. For example, this Keto Pizza Crust doesn’t take tons of effort and actually tastes
better than every other healthy pizza crust I’ve ever tried.

I’m not trying to toot my own horn, but it’s definitely my new go-to option for an easy dinner. The best part is that it actually holds together once cooked and is a sturdy pizza crust to work with. You may not have had this problem, but every healthy crust I’ve attempted was very fragile even after baking and it was a mess to work with. How to Make Easy Keto Pizza Crust

  1. Prep – Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and cover a baking sheet with parchment
    paper.
  2. Make the dough – Combine all the ingredients in a medium bowl and mix well. Form into
a ball and separate the mixture in half. Roll out using parchment paper.
  3. Bake – Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
  4. Serve – Top with your favorite toppings and bake for another 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Enjoy!

Tips and Variations:

Storage – Store flat in a baggie in the fridge for up to 5 days. Can be stored in the pantry in the same manner for up to 2 days. Store in the freezer, sandwiched between wax or parchment paper, in a freezer baggie, for up to 2 months. Best if stored after pre-cooking the crust.

Reheating – If pulling from the fridge or pantry, simply follow the directions for baking the crust if it hasn’t been precooked. If it has been precooked, simply top and bake as directed. If you’re pulling this keto crust from the freezer, let it thaw on its own before following the prior steps.

Add spices – If you want more flavor to your crust, you can add some seasonings to it. Italian seasoning would be a great choice!

Brush with garlic butter – If you prefer, you can skip brushing the crust with oil and use garlic butter instead. Simply melt some grass-fed butter and add some garlic powder or minced garlic to it. Stir, then brush over the dough before cooking.

Flour substitutions – You can always use all almond flour or all coconut flour if preferred. However, you may have to adjust the other ingredients so your pizza will come together properly.

Make it sweet – If you want a light sweetness to your dough, sprinkle a little bit of granulated sugar substitute such as Swerve, before baking it.

Working the dough – I like to use my hands sometimes to flatten out the dough instead of rolling it out. This will keep it from cracking as much. If your dough is cracking while rolling it out, simply pause and press it together with your hands before continuing. Working with this dough requires a touch of patience. Once it’s baked, it’s not as fragile.

Common Questions About Keto Pizza Crust

  • Can I Eat Pizza Without the Crust on Keto? Usually, the meat and cheese are fine, along with a few other toppings like olives, jalapenos, mushrooms, etc. However, it’s the pizza sauce you have to worry about as this often has sugar in it. This can knock you out of ketosis and you definitely don’t want to do that. So, unless you know all the ingredients used in the pizza sauce, it’s not a good idea. The crust isn’t the only thing that can get you!
  • Can You Buy Low Carb Pizza Crust? Of course! The only issue is that they’re not super easy to find right now in most grocery stores. It’s starting to become more popular, but not popular enough that they’re easy to find. It’s often easier to make your own or order them online. I have had more luck and saved a lot of money making my own. This is totally up to you though!
