My daughter loved this letter of the day craft. She thought it was fun to make and loved how it looked when she finished. It is now proudly hanging on our fridge.
This would be a fun craft during a preschool firefighter or fire safety week. Read one of these great books about firefighters before or after making this craft.
Items you need to make this craft:
- Orange and black construction paper
- Red, orange and yellow tissue paper, cut into squares (they don’t need to be perfect)
- glue
- pencil
Click here for my favorite deal on tissue paper.
I use it all the time for crafts (and gifts, of course) so I love having a variety of colors.
Directions:
Trace a large letter F on the orange paper. Cut it out and glue to the black piece of paper. Take a square of tissue paper and wrap it around a pencil, dip in glue and then stick to the letter F. Continue until the letter is covered.
Let the child decide how they want their letter to look. Some might only want fire on the top or bottom or have the tissue paper spread out a little more. Part of the fun (and learning) is letting them make their letter however they choose.
