This is a fun craft to make with your preschooler. My daughter loved making her house and choosing the colors she wanted to use. There is minimal prep for this craft and there aren’t a lot of materials needed, which makes it fast and super easy.
We made these houses after reading one of our favorite children’s books called the Little House.
This craft would also be fun after reading:

What you will need to make a shape house:
-multiple colors of construction paper
-scissors
-white pom poms or cotton balls
-gluestick
Directions:
Cut the construction paper into 1 large triangle for the roof, 1 rectangle for the door, 1 smaller rectangle for the chimney, two squares for the window and multiple long rectangles in different colors. Make sure those strips of paper are slightly smaller than the length of the roof.
Glue the long colorful rectangles together to make your house. Each child can choose whatever colors they want and they can decide if they want a short or tall house. Glue on the roof, door, windows and chimney. Add some puffs of smoke out of the chimney using the pom poms.
Amazon is my favorite place to find materials for crafts. It’s so nice to have them delivered right to the house and most of the items are much cheaper than anywhere else.
Here are items you would need for this project:
Construction paper * Pom poms * glue sticks
