Plan your next Disneyland Halloween vacation. In this tell all trip planner I’ve listed my top 5 topics with all you need to know.
Top 5 Things to do at Disneyland Halloween
Halloween Time is becoming one of the most beloved times of the year at the Disneyland Resort and there is no surprise as to why. Disneyland Halloween is more spook-tacular than ever before! With the return of favorite festive décor and treats, as well as new ride overlays now in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, the fun never ends.
Halloween Time officially begins on September 15th and goes until October 31st, 2021. This gives you plenty of time to enjoy the magic and spooky spirit that this celebration has to offer. I’ve included my top five things you need to know about these frightening festivities.
But first, if you’re looking for discount Disneyland tickets, make sure to use Get Away Today. Go to getawaytoday.com or call 855-GET-AWAY and speak to one of their travel experts directly. They always have the best deals for Disneyland and you’ll scream once you see how low their prices are! See the end of this post for a couple a great offers and a promo code!
1. Halloween Disneyland Décor
One of my favorite memories of Halloween Time is walking into the park and seeing the giant Mickey Mouse pumpkin in the middle of Main Street, U.S.A. Luckily, it’s returning bigger and cuter than ever! Taking a picture with your family here is a must on any Disneyland to-do-list.
In addition to this, be sure to catch the Día De Los Muertos celebration in Frontierland. This festivity will showcase brightly colored flowers, decorations and entertainment from a skeleton trio called Calacas. You’ll also be able to see Radiator Springs transform into Radiator Screams. Here, you will be able to see all of your favorite Cars characters dressed up in ghoulish costumes. There will be cobwebs, pumpkins and fun-filled photo opportunities around every corner.
2. Halloween Disneyland Entertainment
The best entertainment you could treat yourself to is Mickey’s Halloween Party in Disneyland Park. This party is a separate ticketed event and includes the exclusive Halloween Screams Fireworks, hosted by the “Master of Scare-emonies” Jack Skellington and his ghostly dog Zero. It also entails the Frightfully Fun Parade that travels through Main Street, U.S.A. and is a sight you won’t want to miss. This parade includes appearances from Mickey, Minnie, and other classic characters, including the beloved Disney villains! You can also trick-or-treat with the villains, giving you awesome photo opportunities and your choice of healthy snacks or candy.
If you are wanting to go to this event, be sure to get your tickets as soon as possible. Mickey’s Halloween Party is super popular and can sell out fast. However, if you can’t make it to the party, no worries! California Adventure will still be open for guests who want to continue their ghoulish time at the Happiest Place on Earth. Be sure you have a Park Hopper ticket on these select dates or be sure to use your 1-Park Per Day ticket for California Adventure on that day, because Disneyland will close early to the public once Mickey’s Halloween Party starts.
3. Halloween Time Overlays
One of the best parts about this time of year are the holiday ride overlays. To me, it’s so fun to be able to experience the classic rides we all know and love, in a thrilling new way.
In Disneyland Park, you will be able to see the fan favorite Haunted Mansion Holiday and Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy. But new this year in California Adventure are ride transformations like Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween, Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, and the new hit attraction Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! turned Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark each night. With all the new holiday overlays, the park is even more boo-tiful.
Because you won’t want to miss out on all the Halloween Time fun, be sure to check out Get Away Today and look at the exclusive specials they have going on during this festive time. Currently they have an Extra Day Free offer, where a 5-day Park Hopper ticket is the price of a 4-day ticket! That is an extra day to experience all that Halloween Time has to offer.
4. Halloween Disneyland Treats and Souvenirs
After you have visited all of your favorite attractions and have met with the spooky villains, be sure to stop and grab a pumpkin flavored churro, candy-dipped apple, and a butterscotch beignet. These delectable treats are to die for! In addition to this, get a creepy keepsake such as exclusive Halloween Time Mickey Ears, apparel, accessories and décor.
5. MaxPass
While this is one of the greatest times of year, it can also be one of the busiest. However, with the MaxPass, you can beat the crowds and get the most out of your Halloween Time experience. At just $10 per person, per day, you will be able to reserve your Fastpass tickets directly on the app. You also get PhotoPass included, so you can keep photos of your hauntingly enjoyable vacation.
