Back to School Old School with PF Flyers

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of PF Flyers. All opinions are 100% mine.

It is back to school time which inevitably means it is time to buy new shoes. As a mother to active children I have been through many shoes and have learned which ones hold up and which ones are left behind because they are lacking in comfort, support, or the right style. My oldest is now going into the fourth grade and developing into quite the little man. I remember vividly his first day of Kindergarten and how sweet it has been to watch him make his first set of friends. He chose well because they are still his best friends today. These boys literally spend all of their free time together and are such good kids. They remind me so much of the boys from the movie The Sandlot.   Heading back to school can be such a high mix of emotions. Whether your child feels confident in his/her academics, finding the right friends, or worrying about the new teacher that will be such a strong influence on your child’s life for the next year. As they boys’ relationship has grown so has my friendship with their moms. We like to take turns hosting late nights, birthday parties, and get togethers. It has made going back to school something to be excited about and for that I am so grateful. I fell in love with the style of the PF Flyers from The Sandlot movie and loved that they brought back the classic design. My favorite thing is that they are black and will not easily show too much dirt! #momlife. The shoes were designed and marketed at the time to help you “run faster and jump higher.” And while they are technically a “lifestyle” shoe, I don’t think it hurts when you think these shoes will do something magical for you. PF Flyers were also worn with certain military outfits in the 1950’s, worn by professional baseball athletes, and had their own comic series. It is a shoe that is rich in American culture and I love that it ties back to a time when I was his age. This movie came out in 1993 when I was in the third grade! B.F. Goodrich announced his kids’ collection in 1944 and it has seen a rise and fall with popularity through the years. The classic design is back in full force as New Balance has purchased the brand and released a wide selection of the classic American shoe in canvas, leather, and tweed uppers catering to contemporary tastes. We are digging the classic look and I am already planning a back to school night for my son’s group of friends to welcome the new year back in full swing. With good friends and shoes you can jump in, life is pretty good.   You can find PF Flyers in all of their style here. They have men styles, women styles, and kids shoes as well.   Best part, you can authentically say, “You’re killin’ me Smalls!” while wearing these shoes and you will totally fit the part.
