Baby Bump Update: Second Trimester and Growing

Baby bump, 14 weeks, pregnant, pregnancy, second trimester, My Mommy Style

It may be hard for some to know if I am pregnant or not at this point in my pregnancy, but to me starting the second trimester I can feel my belly already poking out quite a bit. I am now 15 weeks and it is that stage of pregnancy when you want to say, “Yes, it is a baby and not a big burrito I consumed in my belly!” Okay, let’s be honest, maybe it’s both. 🙂 When I was pregnant with my first it wasn’t until 20 weeks that my belly really started to poke out, but this time around things are happening a lot more quickly!

We are getting closer to the time that we could find out the baby’s gender and I am thinking I may sway my husband out of waiting to find out the gender until the baby is born to possibly having a gender reveal party around Christmas time…we’ll see what happens!

I have ditched my old jeans and embraced my maternity pants. They are still a little lose, but soooo much better than the waistline digging right into my gut.

I am starting to feel a lot better as far as my nausea goes and have finally kicked the sinus infection/cough that plagued me for two months. I guess that is the trade off for having a Spring/Summer baby, you are the one that gets to endure all of the germs without the ability to really take any medicine aside from Tylenol. Another concern with the winter is how DRY it is here in Utah. I have noticed a HUGE difference in my hair and skin in the last four weeks and I feel like I have been drying up like a prune.

I have always been a fan of the BoppyBloom.com as they provide my favorite nursing pillow that I have used with every baby, I even wrote an “ode” to the boppy pillow and how much I love it in this post. Well, Boppy is now offering a stretch mark protection line that is a triple-moisture blend of shea butter, coconut oil and vitamin e, hypoallergenic, paraben free, phthalate free, non-greasy  (and breast balm is 100% natural and lanolin free).

When I was pregnant with Jackson, my first baby, I became preeclamptic when I was 28 weeks or so. Water was swelling all over my body and I am talking everywhere! When you are preeclamptic your body is reacting to the pregnancy as if it is allergic to it so to speak and it surrounds the cells of your body with water. I developed stretch marks in the strangest places: behind my knees, in my armpits, my inner thighs, and a not so strange place my back side. It was bad you guys. I wish I would have had a product made just for pregnancy and preventing stretch marks. In fact, I wish I would have had a products safe for nursing because I had stretch marks on my breasts as well, especially when my milk came in. Oh, the joys!
