Who wants to meet Daniel Tiger?

Today is a great day, because I get to announce that my friends over at KBYU are hosting a super FUN and FREE kids event! They have put so much time into planning this great day, and I’m sure they would love to have every single one of you there! I’m always looking for fun and educational things to do with  my kiddos – and there just aren’t enough of them. It’s always fun to see the little kids’ faces light up when they meet a character they’ve watched on the t.v. and Daniel Tiger will be the same!

Come with your child and learn about being a good neighbor. You will get the chance to plant your own mini garden (fun right?!), and enjoy some free kids’ activities. Wheeler farms is such a beautiful place and I can’t wait to go back for this event – because it seems like forever since I’ve seen it. Oh, and stay tuned for more events that will be a follow up to this one! shhhhh….

I can’t wait to see you there! Please share this flier on social media so your friends will be able to enjoy it, too!

Protective Factors: (things about this activity that make families strong)

1. Social and Emotional Competence of Children: As we spend time talking with our children at the activity about the need to have friends in the community, and understanding feelings – they will come away with a better social and emotional competence.

2. Knowledge of Parenting and child development: As we work together in the activities, parents will get the chance to learn more about the child’s development and the things that will make them strong community members.

3. Concrete Support in times of need: We will have information there about other activities in the community that are of service to you – as the parent. It’s important to know what they are, because we all need them sometimes! Also, building a garden always helps us to be self reliant.

4. Parental Resilience: As parents, we all need to learn healthy ways to cope with the stressors of life. At this activity, we will see some fun ideas we can do with our children that will not only bond us together – but teach us, as parents, to look for every day actions that will make us strong.

5. Social Connections: As we enjoy ourselves as a community, we will meet other parents doing the same. This builds our network of people we can relate with, and call upon in times of need. We all need friends – and there will be no shortage of them at this activity!
