Christmas Paper Craft Ideas You’ll Love – Kids Crafts

It’s official! I am THAT girl. You know, the one who listens to Christmas music even BEFORE Thanksgiving!  I can’t help it.  We’ve been crafting up a storm around here for Christmas, and what’s crafting without Christmas music?  Which, ps: I pretty much only craft at Christmas time.  Some of my very best memories growing up are of doing kid’s crafts with my mom, and now some of my best mommy memories are crafting with my kids.  So, despite my lack of talent, we throw all caution to the wind and just have a blast!

To start off, I am so excited about this darling countdown to Christmas calendar I made!  Believe me when I say that if I can do it, ANYONE can!!  I shared a post with the tutorial, supplies list and loads of photos on The Crafting Chicks today, I’d love if you popped on over to check it out! **Click Here**  We here at My Mommy Style just idolize The Chicks and their talents, so if you aren’t already a huge fan and following along with their creative endeavors, do so now!! 🙂

Paper Angels – Stand alone, or can be hung as an ornament.

You’ll need:

Your preferred paper both for the body and the halo

3/4in Styrofoam balls

4″ paper doilies (2 per angel – the 1st will be for the lace trim and you’ll cut out the center. The second is for the wings; DO NOT CUT)

Hot glue

This next project was SO much fun for my 3 year old last Christmas!  For the Button Christmas Ornaments you’ll need an assortment of colored buttons in varying sizes and pipe cleaner.

Once you’ve lined up the buttons you’ll be using, fold the pipe cleaning wires in half and then thread the buttons down, putting the two ends through 2 of the holes in each button.  Twist the pipe cleaner off at the top, and use a second wire as the hanger if you like.

This next project is the easiest of all!  Scrap paper Christmas Tree paper craft.  All I did was cut the left over pages into 1/4-1/2″ thick strips at varying lengths and had my son line them up according to size and then helped him to glue them down…although, I would recommend double sided tape to keep your paper from warping…my kiddo went a little crazy with the glue! haha

Just to clarify, on this next paper craft Christmas Tree project, I used a 1 ” circular paper punch for the circles, then we slightly bent out the edges of the bottom half of each circle before pinning it to a foam cone; That’s what gives it the great texture.

For your own paper bead necklaces, it’s best if you roll up your pieces of paper directly onto the string itself.  We cut the ends of each strip of paper into a point to give the beads a little more dimension (thicker in the center), added a button for flair and then secured each button with the tiniest dab of hot glue! LOVED these!! I hope you all have fun making memories of your own this year!  Please feel free to share your own projects with us! xox
