Since we moved to Alaska my kids have become very interested in moose so this was a fun letter for my daughter.
All you need is to trace a letter M on brown paper, or any color the child chooses. Or you could trace on white and let the child color or paint the M however they want. Cut the letter out and glue it on a colorful piece of construction paper. Trace the child’s hands and cut them out for the antlers and then add those to your moose. Add googly eyes and some circles for the nostrils (we chose to use pom poms).
We’ve recently started using our letter stamps to add the name of whatever project we made to the bottom of the paper. I like that it helps my daughter pick out letters and she’s also learning that we write words left to right and it helps reinforce the letter sound we are working on as well as practicing some of the other letter sounds as she stamps. It’s also great for small muscle development and, most importantly, stamping is fun.
